Hot chocolate is a delicious drink to warm you up in the winter time. This is a way to enjoy the same flavor during the heat of summer. It is cool and refreshing with the chocolate sweetness of a cup of hot cocoa. It is a favorite with children and adults alike.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. + 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 c. ice
  • Blender
  • 4 mugs
  • Whipped cream, Cool Whip or Vanilla ice cream
  1. Step 1

Blend sugar and cocoa together in the blender. Blend well, until there are no chunks of cocoa or sugar left.

  2. Step 2

Then add milk and blend until all three ingredients are well combined. The bottom and sides of the blender might need a scrape with a spatula to make sure there are no clumps of cocoa and sugar that are not mixed in properly.

  3. Step 3

Slowly add ice to thicken and to get the desired texture. Do not add more than 2 cups of ice or it will water down the flavor too much.

  4. Step 4

Divide the mixture between 4 mugs and add whipping cream or vanilla ice cream to the top. Garnish with marshmallows or chocolate shavings or sprinkles. Serve with a spoon and a straw.
