How to Make a Delicious and Easy Blackberry Pie


Blackberry pie is so delicious warm and cozy in the fall and wintertime. This recipe is truly no fail. I use frozen berries for ease and buy the pie crust at the market. If you have more time making your own crust can be nice.

Things You'll Need

  • pie crust for top and bottom. I use deep dish.
  • 4 cups frozen blackberries
  • 1/2 cup white flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 T milk
  • place 4 cups frozen berries in a bowl and add the 1/2 cup of flour and 1/2 cup sugar. Toss the berries with the flour and sugar so that they are all coated. Stir occasionally as berries thaw. This will be slightly mushy don't worry.

  • As the berries are thawing, preheat the oven to 425.

  • Put the berry mixture into bottom crust. Lay the top crust over.( I always tear large pieces of crust and lay them puzzle style with some parts overlapping and covering any holes. Because of the next step this method looks beautiful)

  • Brush the top crust with 2 T of milk. Yes all of it there will be a little liquid remaining that is fine. Sprinkle the 1/4 cup remaining flour all over the milky top crust.

  • Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Then at 375 for 20 to 25 more minutes. Or until the top is a beautiful golden brown.
