Make Homemade Peanut Butter
Make Homemade Peanut Butter

With the peanut butter scare that occasionally pops up around the nation, it may be time that you considered making your own homemade peanut butter. The flavor is outstanding and you may never go back to the store brand.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 C roasted peanuts
  • 1 1/2 tsp of oil (peanut oil is best)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  1. Step 1

Organic peanut butter is expensive. Other peanut butter is toxic. Some peanut butter is safe but it does have preservatives and other ingredients in it. When you make your own peanut butter, you know exactly what is in it and what is not. You will be amazed at the taste difference.

  2. Step 2

Put all ingredients in a blender or a food processor. You can also use a product like the Magic Bullet or something similar. The end results are the same.

  3. Step 3

Blend all of the ingredients until the mixture is at a spreadable consistency. You may need to stop blending several times to scrape the sides before the process is complete.

  4. Step 4

When the peanut butter is to the consistency that you prefer store it in an airtight container. You can also keep it in the refrigerator. It should keep for about 2 months, but I bet that it won't stay around that long after you have tasted it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Sometime the oil and peanut butter separate. If this happens just give it a stir before using.

on 2/23/2009 I love doing this. I lived in France, and peanut butter is insanely expensive there - this was my fix for a while! *5
