Find the Best Bathing Suit for your Body

Everyone can look good at the beach, it is just a matter of choosing the right suit for your body, no matter what your size.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bathing Suit
  1. Step 1

Small Chest- Now I know normally you are the type that can get away with not wearing a bra, but here you are going to want a little extra padding and countouring on the top half of your bikini. Also look for bathing suits with ruffles on top, they tend to add to the illusion of a larger bust.
Things to Avoid- Those solid colored, string bikini triangle tops. They do nada for you up there.

  2. Step 2

Apple Shaped (Widest in the stomach/torso area)- Try a one piece with a bit of spandex or lycra in your problem area. This can help to pull you in and make you look a little slimmer. And draw attention to your best assets. Long legs? Find a suit that is high cut on the thigh. Or emphasize that oh-so-sexy clevage you have with a suit that is lower cut on top.
Things to Avoid- Bikinis, which rules out a lot of options however the one piece has made a HUGE resergence in the past few years with many different variations so you now have many more choices.

  3. Step 3

Pear Shaped (Bigger on the bottom) Mix and match bikinis so that you have a solid colored, darker bottom paired with a lighter colored, patterned top. This will draw attention to your top half rather than the bottom, cause who wants to look at somthing plain when they can look at something funky? Just make sure the colors match somewhat-you don't want to look like got dressed in the dark.
Things to Avoid- Boyshort bottoms. I know people like these because they offer more coverage but they also call mucho attention to the lower half. To be avoided at all costs.

  4. Step 4

Short- A one piece works better for this, but it can be done with a bikini as well. You need to find something that is cut high on the hips which makes your legs look longer.
Things to Avoid- Anything bearing the name "low-rise"

  5. Step 5

Long torso- No one pieces for you! You need to break things up, if you don't feel comfortable in a bikini try a clevage bearing tankini. The key hear is avoiding one long line of torso.
Things to Avoid- High neck, solid color one pieces.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try bathing suits on in the stores, that is the only way to find out if things really fit
  • Buy a cute cover-up for when you come out of the water if you're still feeling self conscious.
  • Always wear sunscreen!
