If you're tired of wasting money every 2-4 weeks at the salon for them to spend 5 minutes waxing your eyebrows, here are a few tips for how to achieve those nice salon-shaped brows at home!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Microwavable wax (available at Sally Beauty Supply)
  • Wax applicator sticks
  • Muslin strips
  • White eyeliner pencil
  • Cotton balls
  • Baby Oil or Olive Oil
  • Tweezers

The first thing that you will want to do, is determine where you will need to wax. Take a applicator stick (or a pen/pencil) follow the lines of the A-B-C diagram. Any hair that is on the outside of lines A & C, is going to be waxed. For letter B, the way that you line up the applicator stick all depends on the kind of arch you want and where you want the arch to be.

  2. Step 2

Once you determine what hair is going to need to be waxed, you can take your white eyeliner pencil and draw over the areas that you need to apply wax to (this step is optional, but may be helpful for those of you who don't feel comfortable eyeballing it).

After you have done step one (and two, if you choose), you will need to take your jar of microwavable wax and warm it in the microwave (there are instructions on the jar if needed). Make sure the wax is at a completely melted consistency and pretty warm, but not hot. FYI- The wax is re-microwavable, so it will melt the same way each time you wax in it's container.

  4. Step 4

Now that your wax is warmed up, you need to take your applicator stick, dip it into the wax (you may want to blow on it briefly) and then apply to your brow in the areas you have determined (you can do this in steps for the different areas).

  5. Step 5

After you have applied the wax to the desired area, apply your Muslim Strip, press for a few seconds, and pull the strip off in the OPPOSITE way that the hair grows. FYI- To prevent redness, immediately after pulling off the strip, take your first to fingers and apply pressure at the sight momentarily. --REPEAT THIS PROCESS UNTIL ALL DESIRED HAIR IS REMOVED--

  6. Step 6

Upon completing your wax job (NICE JOB!), you will want to take a cotton ball and apply your oil of choice and use this to remove any left over wax on your brows and to give them a nice glossy look. You can then take a pair of tweezers and pluck any strays you may have missed & a great tip is to use a eyebrow pencil to fill in any sparse spots to make your eyebrows look defined and sleek.

  7. Step 7

Enjoy your newly waxed brows and remember, PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. Always use a brow pencil and a brow brush to keep your eyebrows looking fantastic. You can also use a clear mascara to keep them glossy and sleek.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never re-wax over the same area twice in one session, this could cause thin/sensitive skin to rip. Instead, use your tweezers to touch up strays.
  • Less is more. Thicker brows are IN!: )
