Want to download some free ebooks? If you love reading -whether its for learning purposes or entertainment, there are tons of ebooks on the internet for you to read of pretty much all genres such as fiction, horror, fantasy, romance, classics, suspense, drama or nonfiction books that are instructional, biographies, or even history -something for most any reader. Digital books have been around for a long time, but with the new travel friendly ebook readers they have become immensely popular. Oddly enough, for the longest time, I've heard people say that technology was reducing the number of people that read for entertainment -which couldn't be farther from the truth as with such digital convenience the number of readers and authors have increased dramatically in the last decade or so, not to mention the digital format is far more ecologically friendly. None the less, not only will I outline in this article how to find ebooks for free to download, but also I threw in tons of links to help get you started in finding tons of stuff to read.

  • A program that can read the file format of the books you get
  • An internet connection
  • Enough free memory for the ebooks you download

      First, get an ebook reader

      First, while there are different formats for ebooks; most are commonly in .pdf file format. So, you may need or want to download a program that can read in that format if you don't already have one, such as Acrobat or Adobe Reader which can be found at www.adobe.com or Foxit Reader which can be found at www.foxitsoftware.com there are several others too, for more information check out my other article on finding such a program.

      Start looking to find ebooks

      Next, start looking around -there are tons of free ebooks on the internet! I've provided bunch of links below to help get you started. Optionally, you can go to your favorite search engine and type the phrase 'free ebooks' -if there is a file format you prefer; you might consider adding that to the search. Only download from trusted sites!

      Take proper precautions to protect your computer against viruses and spyware before downloading.

      Read any terms of use before downloading or agreeing to anything -make sure they are actually free.

      Finally, create a new folder on your computer to download all your new ebooks to. Keeping all your ebooks organized in a separate folder will make things a lot easier for you in the long run when you start building a big collection. You might even consider keeping separate folders for instructional reading as well as fiction and non-fiction stories.
