Make a Wonderful Kid's Craft for Valentine's Day - Butterfly Magnet Card Holder

"These butterflies are perfect for children to make for Valentine's Day! They will love giving them to their caregiver to place on the refrigerator! And best of all they can be used as holders to display their artwork!"

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Wooden Hearts
  • 1 Small Decorative Clothes Pin
  • Acrylic Paints
  • Paint Brush
  • Magnet with Adhesive Backing
  • Pipe Cleaner
  • Wood Glue or Tacky Glue
  1. Step 1

Gather all the materials you will need for this project. All materials can be found at your local craft store.

  2. Step 2

Paint the two wooden hearts and decorative clothes pin. Allow time to dry. Once the paint is dry, glue the two hearts together at the point.

  3. Step 3

Next, take the small clothes pin and thread a pipe cleaner through the center hinge. Form the pipe cleaner into antennas for the butterfly and glue the clothes pin onto the front center of the hearts.

  4. Step 4

Nowglue the clothes pin onto the front of the hearts.

  5. Step 5

Paint the butterfly's face onto the top front of the clothes pin using paints or a permanent marker.

  6. Step 6

Once, everything is dry turn the butterfly over and attach a magnet. I found the best way to add a magnet to the butterfly was using a magnet with an adhesive back.

  7. Step 7

Give your Valentine's Day Butterfly to someone special so they can display it proudly on the fridge. Even attach a Valentine to it!
