How to Make Steamed Garlic Green Beans, Recipe
One of the most common vegetables you will find at the supermarket, green beans are also one of the healthiest vegetables you can eat. This slender, green vegetable is rich in vitamins K, C and A and is also an excellent source of dietary fiber. Green beans are served as a stand-alone side dish, or used as a part of a larger dish, such as green bean casserole. Steaming and then sauteing them in garlic will significantly enhance the flavor of this versatile vegetable. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Things You'll Need
- 1 lb. green beans
- 2 tbsp. butter
- Two cloves minced garlic
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste

Fill a steamer pot with enough water so that it reaches just below the line where the steamer basket will sit. Bring the water to a boil.

Place the steamer basket into the pot and add the green beans.

Cover and steam the green beans for five to seven minutes, or until they are tender, but still slightly crunchy. Remove from heat.

Melt 2 tbsp. of butter in a large skillet on the stove over medium heat and saute the garlic in the butter for one to two minutes.

Add the green beans to the pan and toss with the minced garlic and butter until well coated.

Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve.
