Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Common Sense
  • Yourself
  1. Step 1

Having a Gameplan: Before the thought of joining a gym crosses your mind, you should ask yourself two question, one, what are you joining the gym for, and two, are you truly committed to put in the effort and money it takes to maintain a membership. If you still want to join a gym after asking yourself those two questions, you must set yourself goals. Have a game plan ask to what you wish to accomplish by joining the gym, is it to lose weight, tone up or get buff!?

  2. Step 2

Check the Distance: Before joining any type of join, the first thing you should do is check the distance. If you have to drive a long way, the gym membership may not even be worth it. Sure it won’t seem like a problem for the first week or two, however; you will eventually become tired of going out of your way just to work out. If you’re planning to go to the gym after work, check how long it takes to get from point A to point B before joining.

  3. Step 3

Proper Hours: When joining a gym you want to check out the atmosphere different times of day. You may go in the morning and no one may be there, however; if you were to go around 3 pm there may be tons of people cluttering the gym. If you’re into a quiet atmosphere all times of day, visit different gyms and different hours to ensure you get what you want. When some gyms get quiet there will be a 30-45 uses age of the machines to make room for everyone to get a work out in. If you’re not into people telling you when to get of gym machines, go at quiet hours or pick a different gym.

  4. Step 4

Test it Out: Before joining, it would be a good idea to test the gym out. This means asking for the tour, if they offer one, if a gym doesn’t offer a tour, it’s an automatic strike. Treat a gym evaluation like baseball; give them 3 strikes before you call it quits. Look at the scenery be evaluating how many staff members are on the floor and how many people are at the front desk to answer questions. You may be thinking that little things like this don’t matter, but this is will you’ll be spending hours of your time, the front desk handles your account and money affairs!

  5. Step 5

Pay Attention to Work Employees: When preparing to join a gym you should always look at the attitude of the work employees. Look for a gym that caters to you so to say. When you step thru the door they should know you by name or at least make friendly conversation. A hostile gym environment will prevent you front reaching your full workout potential, trust me!
