As more and more people become aware of the benefits to cleansing and detoxification, more choices of detox programs come on the market. Many spas offer cleansing and detoxification services, for drug and alcohol detoxification to normal every day programs to purge toxins and feel better. It is not necessary to leave home or spend a lot of money to improve your health. there are a lot of choices for in home detox programs and products. The best detoxification program is one that is all natural, slow, and gentle.

    Fasting is often recommended for cleansing and detoxification. Many religions incorporate fasting during particular religious holidays. Fasting consists of abstaining from all food and only drinking water. This is rarely safe to undertake without a doctor’s permission. Fasting can be dangerous for diabetics and those with hypoglycemia. This is the most difficult cleanse and very hard to commit to.

    A three or four day juice fast is an effective detoxification program. During this time period, consume only freshly squeezed fruit and vegetables juices. The body will then naturally rid itself of any stored toxins. Consume at least four to six ounces for fresh juice made from whole and organic foods, three of four times a day. Also take a good quality vitamin supplement and add a tablespoon of psyllium or other fiber to your evening juice meal. Fasting cleanses are best done on vacation or a weekend when activities can be restricted.

    Detox programs can be purchased at your local health food store or online which consist of adding in high amounts of fiber drinks and capsules. These fiber supplements usually contain a combination of natural cleanse facilitators such as Epsom salts, aloe vera, peppermint, flax seed, psyllium, etc. This type of detoxification is recommended for at least a week, and up to two weeks and is completed while adhering to a normal healthy diet.

  4. Step 4

    Natural cleansing and detoxification programs can also involve massage, exercise, far infrared sauna sessions, soaking in salt water baths, showering and bathing in filtered water, and drinking pure filtered water. All of these healthy cleansing and detoxification methods should be incorporated into your lifestyle on a regular basis.

on 3/27/2009 IN MY CHURCH WE FAST ONCE A MONTH (BOTH FOOD AND WATER) FOR 2 MEALS OR 24 HOURS. WE GIVE THE MONEY WE WOULD HAVE SPENT ON THE MEALS TO HELP THE POOR. I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO DO A 2 DAY JUICE FAST AND WILL DO THAT SOON.
