Your body, however, is changing and your makeup regimen may need an update to reflect the changes your skin is going through. Instructions

Choose light foundations. Heavy makeup becomes caked and settles into those lovely wisdom lines on your face that are better known as wrinkles. Instead, choose sheer mineral foundations that offer light but full coverage and give your face a soft, glowing look. Update the color if necessary. Your skin tone is likely not the same as when you were 20, so consult with a professional at the makeup counter.

Always use concealer. Don't select a light concealer for under your eyes, as it will only highlight the more pronounced puffiness. Choose a color that virtually disappears when rubbed into your skin. Use concealer not only under your eyes but also to cover any blemishes, dark marks or age spots. Don't wear too much concealer or it will settle into face lanes.

Use pencil eyeliners -- never liquid -- for your eyes. Pencil blends in better on older, looser skin. Avoid the overly smokey eye, which will seem as though you're trying to look younger than you are. Choose a dark brown pencil instead of black. For eye shadow, always use a primer to help keep powder from settling into the lines of your eyelids. Stick with warm shades and avoid bright or frosty shadows at all costs. Shimmery eye shadows actually highlight creases and wrinkles.

Use a lip liner that's the same color as your lips. But while it's needed to help keep your lip color in place, the look of heavily outlined lips is long gone. Use lip moisturizer before adding lip color; it works as a primer to better set the color and prevent the color from settling into the fine lines of your lips.
