In our current economy, many are struggling to make ends meet. If you find yourself struggling to find enough money for your rent or just want some spending money when money is tight, there are ways that you can make money now. They may require some hard work or sacrifice, but they can help if you are in a pinch.

Step 1

Sell! Go through your basement, garage, attic and the rest of your house to find items that you do not use anymore. If you need money today, go to a pawn shop with your electronics and jewelry items. Resale shops often buy clothes in good condition. Children's resale shops will buy clothes, toys and baby gear. Make sure you call the resale shops ahead of time to be sure they are accepting items. You can also list items on eBay or on Craigslist. I have found Craigslist to be successful. A yard sale is another good option for instant cash.
Step 2

Work! Jobs are not easy to come by today, but if you need money there are things you can do. Visit your local Labor Ready office. They pay you the same day for the work you did that day. These are manual labor jobs. Show up in the morning, work wherever they tell you to work, and get paid money at the end of the day. There is a link to Labor Ready in the Resources section below.
Step 3

Barter! It's almost as good as cash if you need a service done that you cannot afford. Advertise your services on Craigslist in exchange for other services or money. There are others struggling too who are willing to trade service for service or goods.
Step 4

Budget! Look at your expenses and ways you can save money. Can you trade in your car for a lower payment? Do you need the premium cable channels or cable at all? Are you turning your heat down when you are not home? There are little things you can do that will help.
