How to Calculate Annual Pay
A person cannot manage their money in the long term unless they know what their annual pay is. Even for people who have a stated annual salary, this may not be as simple as it seems, since there may be factors like a mid-year raise or a bonus that will change their total compensation. Hourly workers face an even more complicated situation figuring out their annual pay.

Determine your weekly pay. For those who are paid a salary, this should be simple, since typically they are paid the same amount either every week or every two weeks. For a person earning an hourly wage, this rate may fluctuate due to missed hours or overtime, so each week may be different. For example, a salaried employee earning $1,000/week and an hourly worker earning $25/hour get paid the same, but only if the hourly worker works a standard 40-hour work week, with missing work or overtime affecting that. Be sure to account for any changes in pay rate.

Determine the number of weeks worked and/or paid. For example, a salaried worker with two weeks of paid vacation as a benefit gets paid for all 52 weeks of the year. An employee earning an hourly rate who does not get paid time off would only earn 50 weeks of pay if she also took a two-week vacation.

Calculate the results. For a salaried worker with no change in pay, this is a straight weeks employed times weekly pay equation. Hourly workers may have a different weekly pay amount for every week worked, and may need to do a long string of addition.

Add any bonuses, conversion of vacation time to payment, or other sources of income that derive from a job.

Tips & Warnings
Pay is not the same thing as income, as it only includes money received in exchange for services rendered. Annual pay is a useful calculation, but it may or may not be the same figure as annual income.
