How To Insert a Screw Nose Ring

Nose screws are different than standard nose piercings. A nose screw is literally screwed into the nose. It must be turned properly into place just as a carpentry screw is. If you attempt to push a nose screw into place as you would a nose stud, you can seriously damage your nose. If you wish to insert a nose screw, you can have it done by a professional at any piercing shop. You can also insert a screw nose ring quite simply yourself. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Wash your hands. Every time you touch your piercing hole, your hands should be clean. Use an antibacterial soap and warm water. This will help prevent infection.

    • 2

Clean the hole, using a designated piercing cleansing solution. Such solutions keep the piercing hygienic and healthy. You can find cleansing solutions at any piercing store as well as many cosmetic shops.

    • 3

Put your thumb inside your nose. Press the pad of your thumb against the interior of the hole.

    • 4

Widen the hole by applying light pressure with your thumb. This will momentarily create a slightly bigger hole so you can more easily insert the nose screw ring.

    • 5

Line the point of the nose screw up with the exterior portion of the hole. Gently insert the point into the hole.

    • 6

Twist the nose screw ring clockwise to insert it into the hole. Once you feel the end of the screw hit your thumb, remove your thumb from inside your nose. While most nose screws turn clockwise, rare ones may turn counter-clockwise.

    • 7

Continue turning the nose screw until it is secured in place.

Tips & Warnings

  • Clean your piercing regularly to prevent infection.

  • Consult a doctor if you experience an infection in your piercing.
