1
Decide how you want to divide the room. Do you want to dissect it right down the middle? Or do you want one side to be larger than the other? Determine which two walls you're going to hang the curtain on.
-
2
Measure across both walls. Decide how far out you want the curtain to hang, and mark each wall. Determine how far down from the ceiling you want the cable to be. Measure directly above your first mark. Use a ruler to make sure your second mark is straight.

3
You will need to install the hooks at the place where the two marks you made intersect. Screw a hook into each wall. For concrete or brick walls, you'll need to drill pilot holes. Check both hooks to make sure that they are secure.

4
Make a loop in the end of the plastic-coated wire. Place the loop over the hook. Stretch the wire across the room to reach the second hook. Pull the wire taut. Determine where you need to cut the wire so that you can make a loop that will reach over the hook.

5
If the curtain normally hangs by using a rod, thread the end of the wire through the curtain. Then, slip the end over the hook. If the curtain you are using hangs with hooks, go ahead and attach the end of the wire to the hook. Then, insert hooks into the curtain and hang it up. Spread the curtain out and divide the room.

Tips & Warnings
Using plastic-coated wire is better than rope because it allows the curtain to slide freely. By using simple hooks to divide a room, it is easy to remove them if you decide to move the curtain, or take it down. You can patch the small holes in the walls with a dab of toothpaste (not the gel type) or plaster.
