How to Use a Remote to Reset a Dish Network 301 Receiver

Resetting a Dish Network receiver may be necessary time to time when you are experiencing receiver difficulty. The signs of receiver difficulty include, but are not limited to slow channel loading, a frozen screen, or no response from the receiver.
You will be able to reset your receiver using the remote control, and cause it to re-download the Dish Network software. Upon doing this, it usually clears up the problem. If you still experience difficulty you will need to contact Dish Network technical support

Instructions

1. Turn the receiver on.

2. On the remote, press "Menu," then "6," and "1."

3. Next, press "Info," "Browse," and "Theme."

4. Select "TV/Video."

5. Go to your receiver and press the front panel power button. The receiver will re-download the software, and be reset to factory defaults once this is completed.
