Instructions

    • 1

Trace flower shapes on scrapbook paper or cardstock using a stencil. You can also choose to use punched flower shapes or draw shapes freehand.

    • 2

Cut out or punch out the petal shapes you have chosen.

    • 3

Place layers of the petals, one one top of the other. Experiment with two colors to see what effects you like. Spread a piece of freezer paper or wax paper on your work surface and place flower parts on it. Glue layers together. The paper will keep the flowers from sticking to a work surface.

    • 4

Choose your flower center. Use a tiny paper punch or piercing tool to poke a hole in the center of the dried paper flower. Push the end of a brad through the layers and secure it. You can choose to glue on a rhinestone, or paper punch with chalking in the center of your flower in place of a brad.

    • 5

Outline your flower with ink if desired. Let dry. Brush decorative chalk on the flower with the tool of choice. You can use a cotton swab to create shadowing on the petals with the chalk.

    • 6

Outline and chalk the leaves of your choice. Glue leaves under the sides of the flower petals.

    • 7

Arrange flowers and glue them in clusters to a piece of cardstock, a journaling box or directly on to the scrapbooking layout.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you prefer using punched paper petals and flowers you can swap shapes with friends to decrease the investment of buying punch tools. You can use snowflakes, tear drops and heart shapes to form flowers too. Glue these types of hand made flowers directly to a layout piece.
