If you have a self-cleaning oven, you can simply leave the dirty broiler pan in your oven during the cleaning process. When the process ends, you'll not only find a clean oven, but a clean broiling pan as well.
-
2
If you don't have a self cleaning oven at your disposal and feel comfortable using chemicals on your broiling pan, take the broiling pan outside in the yard along with oven cleaning spray and black plastic trash bags.

3
Put on a pair of plastic gloves to protect your hands. Spray the oven cleaner thoroughly over all dirty surfaces of your broiler pan.
-
4
Place the broiler pan into a garbage bag and secure the bag closed. Leave the pan in the bag overnight.
-
5
The next day you should find that it is easy to wipe the pans clean using a damp sponge or scrubber.
-
6
You can also use the same garbage bag technique with ammonia. Simply place 1 cup of ammonia in a shallow dish into the garbage bag along with the broiler pan, instead of oven cleaner. Be sure not to combine both oven cleaner and ammonia to avoid any potentially dangerous chemical interactions.
-
7
If you prefer not to use oven cleaner or ammonia, you can simply soak the pans in hot, soapy water for several hours, then scrub using abrasive cleaning pads or balled up aluminum foil.
-
8
For a more natural cleansing method, you might also try sprinkling baking soda all over the broiler pan and using the raw edge of a potato that has been sliced in half to scrub with.
