How to Make Potions in WoW
World of Warcraft allows the characters to take up many professions, most of which appeal primarily to one class or another. Alchemy is one of the few jobs useful for every class, as only Alchemists are able to create potions.

Become an Alchemist. Alchemist trainers can be found in most large towns. If you can't find one, ask a guard for directions.

Upon becoming an Apprentice Alchemist, your ability list will have the Alchemy icon added. Press "P" to pull up your ability list.

Click on the Alchemy icon. You will be presented with a box showing a list of the recipes your character has the ability to create. Click the name of the potion you want to make.

Click Create to make the potion, assuming you have the right ingredients. The process will take a few seconds.

If you don't have the right ingredients, you can buy vials from vendors. Herbs can be found with the Herbalism Profession or purchased from the Auction House.

Tips & Warnings
It is much easier to be an effective Alchemist if you are also an Herbalist; otherwise you will have to purchase your herbs from the Auction House, which can become very expensive. Initially, you should be able to make a Minor Healing Potion, an Elixir of Minor Defense and an Elixir of Lion's Strength. As you level up and gain more recipes, you will be able to make more potions.
