How to Determine Computer RAM

Determining how much RAM your computer has is a very simple process that should take you less than a minute. Your Windows system already knows the answer; you just need to know how to ask it.

Instructions

1. Click your computer's "Start" button.

2. Click on "Control Panel."

3. If you are not in classic view, click the link to change "Control Panel" to "Classic View."

4. Click on "System."

5. Watch the lower right-hand corner of the screen; a pop-up will tell you how much RAM you have.

• Remember: One gigabyte equals 1,000 megabytes.
