The chocolate martini is an indulgence that blurs the line between dessert and cocktail. Over the years, it's become a staple on most bar menus, but don't let the fanciness fool you. A chocolate martini has few ingredients and is a cinch to make.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 oz. of vodka
  • 1.5 oz. of creme de cacao
  • Piece of chocolate (for garnish)
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Ice cubes
  • Martini glass
  • Knife
  1. Step 1

Pour the vodka and creme de cacao into a shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously.

  2. Step 2

Pour the ingredients into a chilled martini glass.

  3. Step 3

Use a knife to shave small pieces from the chocolate bar. Sprinkle the chocolate shavings over the top of the martini.

  4. Step 4

    Serve and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add a splash of creme or half-and-half for even more decadence. Godiva makes an excellent brand of chocolate liquor that can be substituted for creme de cacao. Play with the garnish--a variety of chocolate bars can be a perfect accompaniment.
  • Keep the ingredients as cold as possible for a smooth finish. Don't skimp on the quality of vodka because it serves as the base for the drink.
