How to Make Cheap Decorative Pillows
It is time to add a few new pillows to lifestyle? Tea towels originated in England as cloths used to dry delicate tea cups and saucers. A tea towel is simply a large linen cloth and are gaining popularity. For sprucing up your home decor on a very tight budget turn inexpensive tea towels into beautiful pillows. Things You'll Need
- Tea towel - approximately 16" x 29"
- Thread to match
- Sewing machine
- Iron
- 12" x 16" pillow form or old pillow

Fold one short end over 7 inches; fold towards the middle of the towel. Fold the other short end over 8 inches so that it overlaps the other end by 1 inch. Press the folds flat to crease. Your piece is now 14 inches x 16 inches.

Sew closed each open end. Turn the piece right side out. Push out the corners of the pillowcase. Insert a pillow form, fiberfill material or an old pillow inside the pillowcase through the overlapping edges on the back.

Use a straight stitch on your sewing machine when sewing the ends closed; sew 1/4" from the edges. If sewing by hand use a large sewing needle, running stitches very close together; stitch 1/4" from edge.
Tips & Warnings
Use larger tea towels for larger pillows.
