Instructions

    • 1

Pour 16 ounces of olive oil in a pot and heat it to 125 degrees. You can use a digital food thermometer to get an accurate reading of the temperature. You can buy one at any grocery store.

    • 2

Place 6 ounces of distilled water in a microwave safe cup. Then add ounces of lye and microwave until the mixture is 100 degrees. Again, use the digital food thermometer to make sure the temperature is correct.

    • 3

Carefully combine the oil and the lye/water mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until you begin to see little lines in the mixture.

    • 4

Add your favorite essential oils to the mixture. About fifteen to twenty five drops of essential oils is all that you will need for your soap to have a pleasant smell. Mix in.

    • 5

Pour your soap in to a mold and let it sit for at least three days.

    • 6

Remove the soaps from the molds and wrap them up in papers to keep them fresh. Unwrap as you run out of the previous bar.
