How to Make a Rubber Band Necklace
Want to rock out like Soulja Boy? Here's your opportunity. The rap star's recent fashion statement -- the rubber band necklace -- is sweeping the nation. The necklace looks like a rubberized version of the classic gold chain circa-Mr. T. Eager to create your own? Making your own rubber bling is simple and fun.

1
Collect your materials: rubber bands and a pencil. Turn on some music to enhance your activity (try a little Soulja Boy). Place two rubber bands between your thumb and index finger, creating an rubber oval. Pull this taut. Do the same on the other hand.
-
2
With both hands occupied with rubber bands, bring your hands together and cross the two sets of rubber bands. If done correctly, this will form an X while the rubber bands are still on your fingers. With your right hand holding two rubber bands, remove your fingers and pull the two opposing sides of the same set down across the still-taut other set on your left hand. This should look a little like a picnic table on its side.

3
Thread the pencil through the four loops that are dangling over the taut rubber bands. Then you can remove the other set of rubber bands from your left hand. Place the pencil on a flat surface. You can now pick up the four loops that are not threaded with the pencil. Take two new rubber bands and thread them through these four loops (as you did with the pencil).

4
Pull up on the new set of rubber bands and you will see the link you just created. Continue to repeat this process until you've reached your desired length.
-
5
To end the chain, remove the original link from the pencil and connect it to the last link created on the other end of the chain by tying the four sets of loops together. Place the chain around you neck, being careful not to get it caught in hair as it may cause pulling.

Tips & Warnings
To create a long chain, you'll most likely need more than one bag of rubber bands. To re-create a chain similar to Soulja Boy's, use wide rubber bands instead of thin bands.
