How to Cut Porcelain Tile
Cutting porcelain tile can be done with a manual tile cutter. This simple procedure can be used to cut tile used for flooring and walls. You will be able to make a variety of cuts using this type of tile cutter.

Create a workspace that's large enough for you to work in. Set up your tile cutter in the workspace so you can easily make the cuts you needs.

Mark the porcelain tile with a pencil so you can line it up for easier cutting.

Pull the tile cutter handle to one side. Place a porcelain tile against the tilestop to prevent it from moving when making your cuts.

Push the tile cutter handle over the tile once to create a small indentation. This is called scoring the tile. Press down on the tile cutter handle to complete the cut.

After cutting the porcelain tiles, clean the tile cutter with WD40 to prevent dust buildup.

Tips & Warnings
Apply only medium pressure when cutting porcelain tile. If you apply too much pressure, the tile will crack.
Make sure the tile is placed securely against the tile stop to ensure an even cut.
Score tile only once before applying pressure to complete the cut.
