Paper Bag Vest

Making paper bag vests is a project that even preschool children can do with a little help. There is no gluing involved in the construction, and only simple cuts that can be done with safety scissors.
The vest can be used for creative play in Native American costumes, cowboy outfits, fashion shows and plays.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a straight line up the center front of a paper bag, from the bottom to the top.

    • 2

Cut a hole in the bottom of the bag. Make the hole big enough for a head to slip through. Extend the cut from Step 1 to the hole.

    • 3

Cut an arm hole in each side of the bag.

    • 4

Customize the bag vest by cutting fringe along the lower edge and the arms. Paint the bag and add stickers. Apply glue and cover it with glitter.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the vest is too long, trim a few inches of paper off the bottom.
