Considering a recent boom in the craft industry, there are many jewelry supplies available from beads to crystals that can be used to make doll jewelry. Making matching pieces for a young girl who owns the doll is a fun project that she can be a part of as well.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Assorted small beads
  • Jewelry thread
  • Assorted miniature crystals
  • Scissors
  • Fine metal wire
  1. Step 1

Purchase small beads and crystals in a craft store or sort through beads you already have that match the size of the doll.

  2. Step 2

Purchase fine metal wire at the craft or hardware store. Use this wire to bend into shapes such as circular loops or twists for necklaces. These can be used with or without beads.

  3. Step 3

Purchase jewelry string which can be bought separately or as part of a jewelry kit. Use elastic string for bracelets and anklets and fine plastic string for necklaces.

  4. Step 4

Measure a length of string for each piece to be made for the doll. Cut and tie several small knots at one end to keep the beads from slipping off.

  5. Step 5

Bead varying shapes, colors and sizes for necklaces and bracelets. Leave one inch of string without beads and tie it to the other end. Double knot both ends.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't mind that the doll has tiny holes in her ears, purchase decorative pins and use them as earrings. Creating jewelry for a doll that matches a girl's jewelry is a another fun project. If the doll has separaton between fingers, cut a small piece of wire to fit, insert a larger bead and close off to make a ring.
  • As always, keep small beads and pins away from small children.
