How to Uninstall Limewire Software
Peer-to-peer networking software such as Limewire is tempting to install. You can download the free version and get free music, software and games in exchange for sharing similar files from your system. Not only is sharing copyrighted material illegal, but this type of software can bring different problems as well. Hackers can use it to access other files on your computer, such as your income tax returns or pictures of your children. But, you can also unknowingly download viruses.

Click "Start" and point to "Settings." Click on "Control Panel." Look for "Add/Remove Programs" or "Programs and Features" and double click to open it.

Find "Limewire" in the currently installed programs list. Click on it to select it and click "Uninstall" or "Change/Remove." Complete the installation process. If you are asked whether you want to remove a shared .dll file, click "No to All." When the uninstallation is complete, click "OK."

Go to "My Computer" and double click "Local Disk (C:)." Double click the "Users" folder and find the folder with your user name on it. Double click that folder to open it. Open "My Documents" or "Documents."

Find a folder named "Limewire." Click on it once to select it.

Right click the folder and then click "Delete." This will remove any remaining Limewire files from your computer.
