    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Washing machine
    • Mild detergent
    • Clothes dryer
    • Fabric refresher spray
    • Antibacterial wipes
    • Towels
    • Microporous foam cleaning product
    1. Machine-Wash Lacrosse Uniforms and Pads

      • 1

Check the tags of your lacrosse uniforms, pads and gloves before cleaning. Some equipment can be washed only in cold water or cannot be put in the clothes dryer.

      • 2

Turn your lacrosse uniforms inside out. Washing the clothing inside out keeps iron-on numbers and other designs from flaking off in the washing machine.

      • 3

Launder your lacrosse uniforms, pads and gloves on the delicate cycle with low agitation. Use a mild detergent as directed on the packaging.

      • 4

Tumble-dry your lacrosse equipment on the low setting of your clothes dryer. You can air-dry the pads and gloves if you prefer to avoid shrinkage and bunching of the padding.

      • 5

Spray your lacrosse pads with a fabric refresher spray after the pieces have dried. The fresh scent eliminates slight odors that can remain after washing.

Clean Lacrosse Sticks and Helmets by Hand

      • 1

Wipe down both the outside surface and the inside of your lacrosse helmet with an antibacterial wipe to eliminate germs.

      • 2

Wash mud and dirt off your lacrosse stick under running water. Dry the stick with a clean towel.

      • 3

Remove scuff marks from your helmet and stick with a damp microporous foam cleaning product. Many companies market this type of product as "cleaning erasers."

    Tips & Warnings

    • Some dry cleaners offer cleaning services for sports equipment. The U.S. Dry Cleaners Directory lists cleaners by state, allowing you to find a company in your area that can clean your lacrosse equipment (see Resources).
