How to Get Rid of Frizzy Hair for Men

Frizz is a major problem for men with curly or full-bodied hair. Hot weather and humidity tend to be the main culprits, but with a little preparation, frizz can be managed and controlled with ease.

1. Stop shampooing on a regular basis. Men have been taught from an early age that one must shampoo and condition every single day to keep hair clean and healthy. On the contrary, shampoo removes oil from your hair, which otherwise would keep your hair from becoming brittle and staticky. Try using conditioner only each day while shampooing your hair once a week. This will keep your hair weighted and less frizzy.

2. Use a product that is designed specifically to defrizz your hair. Hairspray, moose and other products designed to hold your hair in place might stop the frizz temporarily, but as the product wears off, your hair will return to a mess of frizz and product.

3. Add product, then brush and not the other way around. Conditioners and grooming cremes will help soften your hair and create texture without creating frizz. If you must brush your hair, make sure you do so after the product has been treated into your hair. Otherwise, brushing can spoil the hair, creating excess friction and static.

4. Increase the amount of product you use based on the weather. If you are going to spend a lot of time outside and the weather is quite humid, use a little more product. Humidity sucks moisture out of your hair and is the main culprit responsible for frizz. A little extra product on those humid days should help maintain control and style for your hair.
