How to Fold Napkins for Weddings

Your wedding day is likely the most important, memorable day of your life. For many, it is also the most formal event one ever attends, and it should be given the utmost attention, down to the last detail. Every place setting at a wedding tells the guest about your feelings regarding the importance of his presence. The setting--and its napkin--should carry on the formal nature of the wedding itself.

Instructions

1. Place the napkin in front of you, turning it slightly sideways. When you look down at it, it should be placed in a diamond shape instead of the regular square shape.

2. Bring the bottom corner of the napkin to meet the top corner of the napkin, with the napkin still lying in its diamond shape. Your napkin will now have a triangle shape.

3. Bring the right end of the triangle to meet the top point. Do the same for the left side. Your napkin will now have a smaller diamond shape.

4. Turn the napkin upside down. This is a fast motion that will help with the rest of the folding.

5. Fold the napkin in half backwards, creating a triangle shape once again.

6. Fold the napkin once more. This time, it should be folded forward. This creates the correct, formal triangle-shaped napkin suitable for a lovely wedding dinner.

7. Place the napkin by propping the bottom sides up on the table. The formally folded napkin should be a delight to guests.

Tips & Warnings

• Try a few times before you commit to folding the actual napkins for the event. As with anything, practice is important.

• Don't rush through the napkin folding process. When down slowly and strongly, this is a beautiful form of napkin folding. However, a hurried job makes this napkin folding technique a very bad choice.
