How to Create a Feed From a Website to a Facebook Page

If you are familiar with the social networking application, Facebook, then you are no doubt aware of how useful it is for staying in touch with friends and family. You can leverage the power of RSS to keep track of your favorite websites' news feeds directly from your Facebook profile. RSS-Connect is a free Facebook application that allows you to read RSS feeds, share entries with friends and save news stories to read later.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Facebook account
  • RSS Feeds
  1. Step 1

    Log into your Facebook account. Navigate to the RSS-Connect homepage (see Resources section). Click on "Go to Application."

  2. Step 2

    Read the terms of service and click "Allow" to give the application access to your Facebook profile.

  3. Step 3

    Enter the name of the RSS feed in the text box under "Title." You can choose any name you wish. Enter the RSS feed's URL in the text box under "URL." You can repeat this process for up to five RSS feeds.

  4. Step 4

    Add descriptions and website links for each RSS feed by clicking on the tab marked "Page Settings" in the RSS-Connect page. If you wish to adjust how many entries of a particular feed are displayed or whether to display the full content of each entry or only the title, click on the tab marked "Display Options" in the RSS-Connect page.

  5. Step 5

    Click submit. Go to your Facebook profile and click on the plus sign. Type "RSS-Connect" into the search box and select the found result. At this point, your profile should display a new tab named "RSS-Connect." Within this tab, you will find your selected RSS feeds. If you do not see any changes to your profile after following the steps above, try reloading the page.

Tips & Warnings
  • While browsing the RSS-Connect page, click the button at the bottom marked "Bookmark RSS-Connect" to ensure easy access for future use. You can share elements of an RSS feed with your friends by clicking the button marked "Share" beneath each entry. You can save a particular RSS news item for up to a month by clicking on the red button next to the entry. If you wish to comment on a particular news item, click on the word balloon icons next to the corresponding entry.
  • The RSS-Connect application is under continual development. Ensure that you have the latest version by navigating to the RSS-Connect page and select "View Updates" from the links list to the left.
