How to Clean House Keys
You've dropped your house keys in mud, muck or grease and haven't a clue how to get the stuff off. Cleaning house keys isn't as difficult as you might think, and in just a few minutes you'll be happily locking the door again with your shiny clean house keys. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Dish soap
- Small scrub brush or old tooth brush
- Rubber gloves (optional)

Wipe off any excess mud or gunk with a paper towel.

Run hot water over your house keys to loosen the remaining soil.

Apply a couple drops of dish soap onto the keys.

Scrub the keys vigorously with the brush, turning them over and paying extra attention to the grooves and cutouts.

Rinse the entire set of keys under running water for one minute, moving them around so that no soap remains.

Dry your house keys with a paper towel and you're ready to go.

If you've dropped your house keys in something really disgusting and germ-laden, wear rubber gloves while cleaning them and wipe them down with sanitizer after cleaning.
