Iron-on patches are not permanent. You can easily remove an applied patch from a shirt in a few simple steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shirt with applied iron-on patch
  • Iron
  • Lighter fluid or rubbing alcohol (if needed)
  1. Step 1

Heat an iron to the highest temperature setting.

  2. Step 2

Iron over the patch until the glue loosens and you can pull the patch off the shirt. This should take between 30 seconds and a full minute.

  3. Step 3

Watch the material carefully with the iron over it. If there are any signs of scorching, quickly move the iron away from that spot.

  4. Step 4

If there is any glue left, carefully rub some lighter fluid or rubbing alcohol onto the spot to remove. Do not re-apply the iron.

  5. Step 5

Wash the shirt thoroughly before wearing.
