How To Build a Washer Game Box

Unlike other washer toss games, you do not need to worry about drilling perfectly symmetrical holes, as there are no holes to drill. This game is much smaller than many versions as well, making it even more portable than other variations of washer toss games.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate a square 2 by 2 foot piece of plywood and place it on the ground in the center of your working area. This will form the base for your washer game box.

    • 2

Cut two pieces off of the 8 foot piece of lumber. Each of these pieces should measure 2 feet in length. Cut an additional two pieces off of the 8 foot piece of lumber that are 20 inches each. These four pieces of wood will form the edges of your washer game box.

    • 3

Measure the exact center of the 2 by 2 foot square piece of plywood. This should be 2 feet from the left hand side and 2 feet from the top. Mark an X on this spot on your plywood at this location.

    • 4

Cut a piece of the PVC Pipe that is 2 inches high. Place blue around the bottom edge of the PVC pipe and place it on the plywood so the X you marked in Step 3 is in the exact center of the PVC pipe. The PVC pipe is the target players will attempt to toss their washers into in the washer game box.

    • 5

Place a thick strip of wood glue along two opposite edges of the plywood. Place your edge pieces that you cut in Step 2 on these strips of glue. Add an additional strip of glue on the two other edges of the plywood and place the remaining two border pieces you cut on those strips of wood glue.

    • 6

Wait for the glue to dry, and paint your washer game box if you want. After the paint dries, the game is ready for play.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may turn the game box upside down after the glue and paint dries and drill screws into the wood frame from the bottom of the plywood if you wish to secure it. It is not necessary for this washer game box, but will increase its durability and longevity.

  • Measuring the size for the final two frame pieces will give you a better fit, as this will avoid the risk of cutting a piece that is too short to touch the other two edges.
