Here is a simple recipe for healthy whole wheat pancakes and waffles.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Cups Whole Wheat Dry Mix (Read How to Prepare The Dry Mix for Whole Wheat Pancakes/Waffles)
  • 1 Large Egg (Waffles)
  • 2 Large Eggs (Pancakes)
  • 2 Cups Buttermilk
  • 1/4 Cup Milk
  • 4 tbsp Canola Oil
  1. Step 1

Put 2 Cups of Whole Wheat Dry Mix into a mixing bowl.

For Pancakes put two eggs into the mixing bowl. This helps keep the batter from spreading over the entire griddle rather than retaining the traditional round pancake shape.

For Waffles put one egg into the mixing bowl. This keeps the waffles lighter.

  2. Step 2

Put the two cups of buttermilk, 1/4 cup of milk and 4 tbsp of Canola oil into the mixing bowl and wisk until all of the ingredients are mixed.

  3. Step 3

For Pancakes, heat up the griddle and pour the amount of batter you want to make the size of pancake you desire. When the batter bubbles throughout the pancake is ready to be flipped.

For Waffles, heat up the waffle iron and pour the batter onto the grid until it is almost completely covered. Leave the edges uncovered as the batter will expand during the cooking process.

The batter will make 6 servings.
