Imbolc , is celebrated on February 2nd. The primary idea of Imbolc is to celebrate the upcoming springtime and the longer days.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decorate your home and/or alter with seasonal plants and the color brown, which represents the Earth.

  2. Step 2

Burn all your evergreen decorations from Yule. This will ensure good luck for the upcoming year.

  3. Step 3

Make small bundles of straw and tie together with a black ribbon. Assign each bundle with something you would like to remove from your life. Burn the bundles in the fireplace or a fireproof bowl.

  4. Step 4

Sometime after dark, light a few votive candles and turn off the lights. This will guide the path to spring.

  5. Step 5

Have the family parade around the outside of the house while banging on pots and blowing noisemakers to wake the sleeping spirits. (Kids love this but the neighbors usually don’t so try to be respectable and don’t do it too early, or for too long.)

  6. Step 6

Invite friends and family over for a feast to celebrate hearth and home.

  7. Step 7

Bless seeds that you will plant at Ostara.
