It takes time and effort, but if you're a good writer with a sharp wit, writing movie reviews online can be profitable.

It's not easy to make good money writing movie reviews online, but with some solid writing skills, persistence, and a good online plan you can make money out of a hobby like writing movie reviews.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Connection
  • Constant Content Account
  • Associated Content Account
  • Amazon Associates Account (optional)
  • Google AdSense Account (optional)
  • Blog (optional, but strongly reccomended)
  1. Step 1

First of all, realize that success won't happen overnight and that even with a clever writing style and savvy marketing, it's going to take some time. Think long term, and you'll be in the right mind set and planning mode to pull off getting paid to write movie reviews.

  2. Step 2

Look for places to display your writing ability online and get attention. Constant Content is a great place for new movies, especially if you only sell usage rights (to keep your name on the review), and then once accepted you can publish these reviews on Associated Content, and on your own blog, which can be monetized with CJ.com, Amazon Associates affiliate, or Adsense.

  3. Step 3

Post consistently. Sure, there will be weeks where more movies are released than others, but you want to post/write consistently at least once or twice a week just to keep up the habit. This not only keeps you submitting movie reviews to CC and AC, but this is also especially critical if you hope to build a readership on your monetized blog.

  4. Step 4

Gather back links for your articles and blog, to help them rank higher in Google and the other search engines. If you're page one on Google for "Movie Reviews" with your blog, then you don't need anyone else to make money writing online movie reviews. Even if you're in the top few pages, you might be discovered and have print markets ask to syndicate your reviews.

  5. Step 5

Keep at it, and keep honing your skills as a review writer. Reviews of just released movies are best, although there is always room for other type of movie review articles.

  6. Step 6

Be creative, work hard, and be stubborn. Most people fail because they give up at the first or second sign of difficulty. Keep going and you'll be one of the review writers who succeeds!

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a wide variety of websites to get your articles and name out there. Places like Squidoo and Hubpages can be used for "my ten best movie reviews" or "ten best zombie apocalypse movies" and other similar creative titles.
  • For AC & CC movie reviews from opening night or shortly after opening work best and tend to sell the best. This is also common sense for blog posts when trying to build a readership.
  • Have a good plan, and write good reviews. Just throwing up a lot of random mediocre movie reviews won't help you at all.
