Wedding gowns with sleeves can be flattering on any body type.

Your wedding gown may be the single most important dress you wear. Choosing a wedding gown may seem like a daunting task for many brides-to-be. Deciding that you would like a dress with sleeves can add an additional challenge. Fortunately, many bridal designers are taking a cue from Kate Middleton's dress from the British royal wedding and creating more gowns with sleeves than ever before. Some women choose sleeves for religious reasons while others base their decisions on their age or how much skin they feel comfortable with. Brides who want to cover all or part of their arms will find it fairly simple to find the dress of their dreams. Does this Spark an idea?

Begin by determining what type of sleeve you will want. Some options include long sleeves, 3/4-length sleeves, t-shirt length, cap length or off the shoulder. You may also decide on illusion sleeves which are sleeves sewn in sheer fabric. If you would like to cover most or all of your arms you should choose 3/4-length or long sleeves. If you prefer to just cover your triceps you can pick a t-shirt length option. Cap sleeves are shorter than t-shirt length choices and are rounded. Off the shoulder sleeves give your arms coverage while showing off your decolletage and shoulders.

If you are unable to find a dress you love with sleeves consider having a strapless dress converted into a gown with sleeves. Ask the bridal store if they can order extra fabric and sew sleeves on in alterations. Be sure to inquire about the price and how long it will take for them to design and sew on the sleeves.
