How to Make a Mason Jar Lamp

Any left over mason jar is an opportunity for creativity. Fill with gumballs, marbles, clear acrylic and set small items like a fish tank, artificial flowers, small diorama. Anything you can imagine and can fit in a mason jar you can turn into a lamp.
When you get creative remember that these jars can be opened and items changed or you can use it for sneaky storage.
Like crayons standing up, Marbles, Bubble Gum balls, Jaw Breakers, Buttons, spools of thread, crochet hooks and a spool of yarn,
pennies or loose change, mniature cookies,
popping corn, hair scrunchies, etc.
It provides light and storage, what could be better.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 qt mason jar assorted items to fill it with lamp kit. Paper lampshade Lampshade form Windex Clip-on adhesive lampshade Printer paper or fancy paper for lampshade
  1. Step 1

    Begin by washing the jar and drying it well. Use Windex to shine it up on the inside and outside.
    Fill the jar with what you want.. Make it interesting, fun or useful. For useful I mean like buttons, marbles, gum balls.

  2. Step 2

    Open the lamp kit. Everything is assembled. Insert insulator under lid and then screw lid on.

  3. Step 3

    Now print off the Paper lampshade.
    Peel off the lampshade glue covering and stick on the shade.

  4. Step 4

    Screw bulb into lamp socket

    Push clamp on lampshade into place and you have a unique one of a kind lamp!

Tips & Warnings
  • Think outside the norm with what to fill your lamp with. It's great immediate storage for small items.
  • Use colored tissue paper to adhere to the lampshade for a unique lamp shade
  • Keep the bulbs below 75 watts stick with 60watt if possible so that the items won't melt or get too hot
