Things You'll Need:
- frozen salmon filets
- aluminum foil
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- ginger
- olive oil
- thyme
-
Step 1
Use frozen salmon fillets for this recipe. No need to thaw ahead of time.
Place a fillet over a large piece of aluminum foil. The foil needs to be large enough that you can seal it up over the fish with plenty of room. -
Step 2
Pour a couple of teaspoons of olive oil over the fish. Use a brush to evenly coat the fish with the oil. Combine the brown sugar, and several teaspoons of powdered ginger in a bowl. You can add a sprinkling of cayenne pepper if you like things a little spicy. Stir to mix well. Put the mixture over the salmon, packing it on the fish to coat the whole surface well.
-
Step 3
Sprinkle some thyme over the fish. Now seal up the aluminum foil and place directly on the oven rack. Bake at 450 degrees for around 30 minutes, or until the salmon fillets are done. Check at 30 minutes, and then add time if needed. Ovens vary greatly in temperature, so this is an individual thing sometimes. This is quick and easy and tastes awesome. I do this when I want an easy clean up. Baked potatoes make the perfect, easy cleanup side item.
