  1. Step 1

Decide before brochure making on the product or message, and write it clearly and succinctly. Your message should be fewer than 400 words total for the best brochure designs. But as a general rule how to make brochures that are folded in half that look well balanced, the text should be at the top on the first page, bottom on the second, top on the third, and bottom on the fourth to create balance. Try printing brochures as samples at this point with just the text and white space to get a sense of how balanced it looks.

Or download brochure templates from Microsoft Word's website that supplement your brochure software. Make sure the pictures in your brochure designs fit your message when printing brochures. You'll need the proper permission and license for the photos you use when brochure making, or take your own photos so you can print brochure fliers that are royalty free.

  3. Step 3

Print sample brochures that you created so that both sides are face up. For color brochure printing click print near the top right window of the brochure software, then click the properties button.
