These flowers, or pom poms as some call them, are a great project to do as a group or for kids to help with that want to help with the decorations. Instructions

    • 1

Layer together 8-12 sheets of tissue paper, using less for a smaller flower and more for a thicker flower. Start on one end, and fold into an accordian, in 1.5 inch widths.

    • 2

Cut a piece of curling ribbon, approximately 12 inches in length. Tie around the middle of the folded peice of tissue paper.

    • 3

Using the scissors, round the ends of the folded paper. Pull the two halves together to form a ball, using double stick tape to secure if you wish, continuing to pull layers apart to form a ball. Hang ribbon and enjoy!!

Tips & Warnings

  • Cut different designs on the end of the paper, either round the corner, form a point, cut out diamonds. Be creative and have fun!

  • Use different colors of tissue paper to make a colorful flower. Play with patterns and metallics!

  • The standard piece of tissue paper is 20x30, cut that in half or even fourths and make present toppers or napkin rings.

  • If making these a considerable time before the event, hang them to store them and don't hang by a window as the colors will fade.
