Weevils seem to come from nowhere and invade the dry foods in your pantry. If weevils are ruining your cereals, flour, noodles, or any other dry food items, there are a couple ways you can help repel them from your cupboard.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The best way to ward off those pesky little bugs is to place any opened dry items in an airtight container or sealed Ziploc bag.

  2. Step 2

Spearmint flavored gum - Place a few sticks of any spearmint flavored gum in your pantry. Pay special attention to place the gum next to noodles, flour, cereals, pancake mix, etc. The strong spearmint scent repels weevils so they will stay away from your pantry. Replace with new sticks of gum once a week to keep the scent strong.

  3. Step 3

Remember to always check the dates marked on your dry foods, and use them by that date. The longer they sit the more chance they can be ruined by weevils, even if they are not open!
