The social networking service Twitter is continually growing in popularity. Some people add new content to their Twitter pages daily, while others less frequently. If you’d like to share your blog posts with your Twitter community but forget to update your Twitter page, you can use TwitPress to automatically update your Twitter account with your latest blog posts.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the Wordpress.org website and download the TwitPress plugin (link to TwitPress in listed in the resources below).

  2. Step 2

Upload the plugin to your blog’s server. Make sure to upload TwitPress into the /wp-content/plugins directory for your blog.

  3. Step 3

Configure the TwitPress plugin by adding your Twitter username, password and select a message format. The message format allows you to change the introductory wording for your blog post. You might want to use something like “Latest blog entry:” or “My new blog post:” You can find the configuration page under the Manage section of your WordPress installation (this could be different depending on which version of WordPress you’re using).

  4. Step 4

Activate the TwitPress plugin by going to Plugins menu and clicking the “activate” link.

  5. Step 5

Test your installation by adding a new blog post. Once you’ve added your post, go to your Twitter account to see if the most recent post appears.
