Things You'll Need:
- Feng Shui Bagua
- Blueprint or floorplans
- Inkjet transparency paper
-
Step 1
The Feng Shui bagua can be extended to form a square for use in the home.To use the Feng Shui bagua in your home, you’ll have to align it with your front door. Using the front door as the anchor point, you’ll apply the rest of the bagua to the entire home. To get a better picture of how your home is divided according to the bagua, it will be helpful to find either blueprints or a floorplan of your home. Print out a copy of the square bagua onto a transparency sheet. Next, lay the transparency over the home floorplan to see which areas align. Since most houses are not perfect square shapes, you will have to imagine how your home can be divided into nine equal squares. (See tips section below for how to interpret irregularly-shaped home editions.)
-
Step 2
Once you have an understanding of which areas of your home correlate to various aspects of your life, you can begin to make changes that will enhance your chi flow. Each area of the bagua is associated with a direction, a Chinese element, and colors. Using the correct colors and elements in the right spaces will enhance the positive flow of chi. For example, the fame and aspiration gua corresponds to the fire element and the color red. So you should place some red objects and maybe even candles to represent fire in that section of your home.
-
Step 3
As you use the Feng Shui bagua in your home to make design choices that enhance chi flow, keep in mind that moderation is key. Feng Shui is all about balance, so you should be careful not to overdo anything. In the example in step 2, you would use red to enhance your fame and aspiration. However, you would not want to paint the room red, install red carpet, and have red bedding. Too much red will create an imbalance and cause bad chi flow.

on 9/29/2009 Thank you for this Feng Shui Bagua information. While determining the location of the nine life areas in your home be sure to be conscious of setting your intention for the shift you desire and keep setting your intention as you continue to invite Feng Shui into your space.
