Things You'll Need:
- Potatoes
- Salt
- Cream cheese
- Butter
- Milk
- Saucepan
- Potato Masher/hand mixer
- Knife

Step 1
**serves 4-6 people
Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
Peel the potatoes and cut them into quarters.
Place the potatoes in a medium to large sized saucepan and add enough water to cover the potatoes. -
Step 2
Place the saucepan on the stove and turn on high.
Cover pan but leave enough room for steam to escape if necessary.
Bring the potatoes to a boil.
Lower the heat to medium/low.
Cook the potatoes until they are soft. You should be able to put a fork through them very easily.
Cooking time is usually between 20-30 minutes. -
Step 3
Drain the potatoes but leave them in the saucepan.
Stir in one package of cream cheese, 1/4 cup of milk and 1 stick of butter. You can also use sour cream instead of cream cheese.
Mash the potatoes until there are no lumps remaining, using either a hand potato masher or an electric hand mixer.
Serve them while they are still hot.
