- 1 – Container (hard plastic and water proof (recommend Pelican or like brand)
- 18 - drinking water pouches with 4.227oz. (or 3 liters per household member per day/ with 3 day supply)
- 3 - 2400 Calorie Food Bar (divides into 3-day supply)
- 1 - pair heavy duty leather gloves
- 3 - emergency blanket to stay warm (or one per household member)
- 3 - tissue paper (7-pack each)
- 1 - tooth paste (and one tooth brush per household member)
- 3 - emergency rain poncho (unisize) (or one per household member)
- 3 - terry towels (14" x 14" approx. size) (or one per household member)
- 3 – 1oz bottles of liquid hand sanitizer (or one per household member)
- 6 - pairs of disposable gloves (or two per household member)
- 1 - emergency whistles with string, shrill sound
- 1 – waterproof flashlight D-size
- 8 - batteries for flashlight (minimum 36hrs of battery life)
- 48 - piece first aid kit
- 3 day supply of any household member's prescription medications and extra pairs of glasses if applicable

Determine what regional emergency you have the highest risk of encountering. You may also check with your county or state emergency management official for assistance on how to further plan for an area emergency.

Create a plan based on the localize hazards. Then make every family member aware of the exactly plan and what must be done in the case of an emergency. Purchase a durable waterproof box. It does not have to be expensive, just a large waterproof box with a lid that seals water tight. These are available in the storage sections of most camping or outdoors stores. Pelican and like brand cases are perfect for this kit. They are wheeled and highly mobile yet water proof and durable.

Gather the items on the list that you already have at home. Do not take items that your family will need for everyday life. Simply collect the items that are extra, or from an existing emergency kit.

Average Personal First Aid KitPrioritize the most important items to be added to the kit first. A fully stocked first aid kit to include 3 days supply of any household member’s prescription medications is an absolute must! Designate a first aid kit for emergency or disaster and one for everyday use.

Make a first aid kit if you don't already have a one. If you have these basic supplies you are better prepared to help to treat any disaster related injury. If you do not think you know what should go into a first aid kit you can purchase a pre made kit at any local camping or outdoors store.

Keep a kit inventory. If you can't pick up everything you need at once you should add an item or two to each shopping trip. Keeping in mind you need to prioritize from most critical items first to least critical items last.
