Instructions

    • 1

If you are going to make the version made of poster board and paper, you first need to download the template for the glasses from http://stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov/img/glasses.pdf.

    • 2

Print out the template onto regular paper and then trace the pattern onto the poster board. Cut out the pattern of the glasses, including cutting out the holes for the eyes.

    • 3

Use the sunglasses as a guide and cut out two pieces of plastic wrap that will end up being your lenses. If you are using the acetate paper, cut out one piece of blue acetate paper and one of red. If you are using regular plastic wrap, once you cut the plastic wrap color one piece red and the other blue using your sharpies. Make sure the colors are truly blue and red or the 3D will not work as well.

    • 4

Tape the plastic wrap to the cardboard frame you have cut out and then tape together the front of the glasses with the side.

    • 5

If you want to make more sturdy glasses, use a pair of cheap sunglasses. First pop out the lenses. Then tape the plastic wrap over where the lens was.
