Instructions
  1. Step 1

Gather a comprehensive documentation of your academic history. Include courses completed, grades, and level of education attained.

  2. Step 2

Do some soul searching and pick a career. You need to have your plan formulated and leave no doubt in anyone's mind that you are going to take that scholarship money and turn yourself into a fully contributing member of society. Your chances of receiving money for school increase when you pick a program for a career that is 1) in demand 2) short in time span (think a certificate or technical degree), and 3) going to immediately get you into the workforce.

  3. Step 3

Write out your plan of action, in detail. Determine exactly what your goal is and where you want to get your education. Include research on at least 2 schools that offer the program you are interested in, along with information about tuition, credits required, length of completion, and the total cost of enrollment. Also research scholarships available for your specific degree and school. All of these things will be essential toward your chances of earning an educational grant.

  4. Step 4

Thoroughly document your other living expenses. Provide a comprehensive illustration of how you will stay afloat financially while earning your degree. You need to be able to provide proof that you will be able to complete the program without going deep into debt or financial crisis.

  5. Step 5

Use both the document of expenses, and your income to demonstrate your financial need of assistance to graduate in a program that will improve your condition of life by keeping you employed at a good job.

  6. Step 6

Develop a detailed employment plan for directly after graduation or degree completion. You want to provide convincing evidence that their investment in your education will directly affect your employment opportunities and job search. This step relies heavily on the fact that in the long run they save a significant amount of money by paying for your education, keeping you off of unemployment benefits.
